Are we just good friends?

I'm really good friends with this guy I know and all my friends think we should date they say we have "Chemistry" and were cute together! I really do like him like A LOT. He always texts me and sometimes he starts the conversation. The last day of school we didn't hang out because my friends were really bothering him with the whole "Do you like her" and "you to should go out thing." But he said he wanted to hang out with me really bad. Oh and also whenever my friends tried to ask him out for me(not my choice) he wouldn't answer ans say "I'll only answer if she asks." But i got scared and didn't ask. He's also telling me how i have super pretty eyes. So do you think he likes me or just a really goood friend?
