Can I break my lease in my apartment if the landlord refuses to take care of the black mold due to flooding?

I am living in a basement apartment that has flooded 3 times. My boyfriend and I have repeatedly asked the land lord to fix the flood problem, but she says she doesn't have the money. So sense the flooding hasn't been taken care of there is a black mold growing on the walls and spreading all over our things. Now we want to find a place with better living conditions, but we are obligated to stay for 8 months and have stayed for only 6. Not to include my boyfriend is starting to get sick and I know it isn't healthy for us to stay.
