Are psychopath's insane ?

Forensics project at school and it's an end of the year assignment , the last one. I'm doing my project on forensic psychiatry and i'm not sure if this is a dumb question that i'm asking but i can't seem to find the answer anywhere . Are psychopath's insane or are they two different things ? And we have to have a case study , i'm doing mine on Bob Bardella . Was he ever declared insane ?
