Guy Situation... help?

So, my boyfriend and I have been boyfriend/girlfriend for about a month and a half now and we never spend time together. We haven't had a "date" in about a month although he has a car and is a senior in high school. I am a sophomore btw. So, at first it was okay because the reason he couldn't hang out was that he had to finish his online course in order to graduate. But, then he'd be hanging out with his long time good friends that are girls. It bothered me but I didn't say anything. Now he's about to graduate and I want to break up with him but won't see him untill Friday, his graduation day. I wanna be free for the summer. Should I break up with him over the phone tonight? Like, he's been acting like we are the happy couple regardless of the fact that we never hangout. He always acting like we are a good couple but we never spend time together (which I've brought up to him). He never fixes it though, although he has the car. I'm sick of his rollercoaster moods though. I can never tell if he is in a goood mood. I just really need some opinions.
